Connect to Art and change in Northern Ireland
...or is it a combination of the above with luck, contacts, friends, talent, trends and gatekeepers?

Comment by jennifer on June 11, 2012 at 0:00 i feel that as i am still a student and have no experience in the art market to date, i have only a small opinion to give but the education and tutorials i have received are extremely benifical in aiding me to better my understanding of my painting techniques, conceptalsation of ideas and confindence. without this i feel work would have suffered and hope that the quality of work i produce now will attain these opportunities, best thing ive learnt to date is education opens many doors :D the people you surround yourself with make you who you are ,and a better person for it .
Comment by rik peel on June 4, 2012 at 14:50 yeah - I think it is pretty much all of the above - although - probably the percentages of each vary wildly from opportunity to opportunity. In my humble opinion a mix of talent and (controlled) self confidence are a good starting point.
Comment by Alice Burns on June 3, 2012 at 16:41 I am not sure, I think it might help in some ways.
I think it is a combination of what you posted.Getting past the gatekeepers is the big one I think.
