Connect to Art and change in Northern Ireland

In 2022 how would you like to look back at the last 10 years of the Belfast art scene?

I was thinking this bank holiday weekend just how much  NI has changed but how much more is still required and was projecting myself forward ten years. If you were looking back in 2022 at the Belfast Art scene what would you have liked to have happened?

Great vib at mo and it's getting bigger. I think more interdisciplinary interactive media events in public space. I think the council could allocate hotspots/spaces for the creative community to exhibit/screen/perform/collaborate etc, throw it out in the open. Also interactive sound art, I love this and would like to hear more.

El it looks like the hot spot idea might get closer to fruition with the announcement of the Belfast super duper wireless wi fi city centre.

to be in power with other simalar city's like newcastle upon tyne. it has several contemporary public galleries, same industrial back ground as use roughly same population. reason for the difference i think it's that what our city's wealth went to england a bit like the wallace collection, but hah we have a ship that sank.

James that's a nice idea, I have never been to Newcastle upon Tyne but believe its a fabulous city for art.

Yes Bronagh it is well worth the visit and the people are great and friendly. I am sure there are a lot more cities in the UK with simaler population to ourselves but more public art than we have
