I think I read somewhere it is after 5 years, then you are fully fledged.

Five years after graduation or whenever you start calling yourself an artist you stop being an emerging artist.

Maybe it is after you have a certain amount of solo shows? I have no idea really, I just know I read that five year thing somewhere.

there is also the term mid carear artist, how do you judge that?

Interestingly enough I know someone who got a mid career artist prize and he's 70:-) it did make us all smile . We were wondering what age they thought he was going to live too.

I am constantly emerging, i think it's all to do with creative evolution aint it
