Artists the support for art organisations funding is announced and details are on the arts council website. Is this value for money? Does it support your pratice from an artists point of view?

No body want to reply here, from an artists point of view I dont think the system is set up to support individual artists I think the wealth of talent in Northern Ireland is hampered by a number of mecanisims in place and in some cases some organisations set up to support creativity. I want to know why Craft has a seperate strategic body in Northern Ireland and a budget over £130,000 but Visual artists do not??I want to know why artists just except this? Its as if everyone is used to getting shitted on so they will not make a noise??? Anyone else have any thoughts?

I totally agree with you Bronagh artist in NI are at the U bend of the toilet for visual arts. In my many conversations with artists here every one complains about the funding except those in the know.
