In response to the increasing prevalence of video as a vital part of the prac­tice of many contemporary artists, the Empress Gallery presents Contempo­rary Art and the Moving Image, a special one-off screening comprising video pieces made by some of the most exciting and challenging contemporary artists working today. Videos are from artists from both Ireland and beyond, and include video art, short films, animations, video documentation of per­formances and installations, and more.
 
Featuring the talents of Maria Araka, Alan Bulfin, Dwayne Butcher, Pat Byrne, Melissa Doran, Cathal Duane, Michael Hanna, Eimhin Hawes, Phil Hession, Michael Higgins, Amelia Hitchcock, Jacqueline Holt, Ciaran Hussey, Jenny Keane, Lemeh 42, Miguel Martin, Séamus McCormack, Laura McMorrow, Linda Monks, Shana Moulton, Molly O'Dwyer, Joe Ryan, and James Ward.
 
Showing at the QFT, on Sunday 3rd April, 2pm. Screening last 2 hours, which includes a 10 minute interval.
